- PC users can simply download a patch.
- Console users need to use cheat code software like an Action Replay or a Gameshark.
- Do to the political pressure and upheaval, the ESRB was forced to change the games rating from “M” to “AO” (Adults Only)
- Unfortunately this has caused almost every major retailer to pull the #1 selling game from their shelves.
- Take-Two has destroyed its current inventory of the game, and is planning to re-release a new version minus the extra hidden code to re-achieve the “M” rating.
- However, some retailers like Wal-Mart and Target are not sure they will restock the game.
- Take-Two the publisher’s of the game has been forced to lower their sales expectations for the fourth quarter because of this.
- This has made their stock prices fall over 5% to below $25 a share.
- Take-Two claims that the code was locked from being able to be executed, and blames third party cheat code companies for altering the code.
- Take-Two is considering legal action against such companies.
