Price of Grand Theft Auto Skyrockets on Ebay

  • It was recently found that GTA: San Andreas contains code that allows users to play sexual mini-games during CJ’s invitations to “coffee”.
    • PC users can simply download a patch.
    • Console users need to use cheat code software like an Action Replay or a Gameshark.
    • Do to the political pressure and upheaval, the ESRB was forced to change the games rating from “M” to “AO” (Adults Only)
    • Unfortunately this has caused almost every major retailer to pull the #1 selling game from their shelves.
  • Take-Two has destroyed its current inventory of the game, and is planning to re-release a new version minus the extra hidden code to re-achieve the “M” rating.
    • However, some retailers like Wal-Mart and Target are not sure they will restock the game.
  • Take-Two the publisher’s of the game has been forced to lower their sales expectations for the fourth quarter because of this.
    • This has made their stock prices fall over 5% to below $25 a share.
  • Take-Two claims that the code was locked from being able to be executed, and blames third party cheat code companies for altering the code.
    • Take-Two is considering legal action against such companies.
