Time for a Break - Microsoft announced today that both the Xbox Live service and Xbox.com will be unavailable for approximately 24 hours on Monday October 24th.
- The downtime will allow Microsoft time to run some maintenance and upgrades on their network in order to prepare for the launch of the Xbox 360.
- Once the network comes back up, it will be ready to support the new Xbox 360 features.
- Xbox.com will also have a new look with a focus on the Xbox 360.
- At the beginning of November, Xbox.com will start new forums and a new “My Xbox" feature.
- My Xbox will be integrated between the Xbox 360, Xbox Live and Xbox.com
- Gamers who log into Xbox.com with a linked gamer tag will be able to view detailed versions of their Xbox 360 gamer cards.
- Gamer cards will have a complete history of games played and achievements reached, as well as likes and dislikes and basic bios.
- You will also be able to compare friends’ gamer cards side by side.
- You will also be able to see which friends are online and what they are playing much like you can do now on Xbox.com.
