Story

  • Like The Sims and Animal Crossing the story is what you make of it allowing you to move at your own pace.
  • A man named Takakura tells you that you have inherited a farm from your father. HMIAWL_01
    • You have to name your farm as well as your character and any animals that you get in the future.
  • Takakura stays on your farm to teach you how to run your farm and also helps you by shipping dairy products, and completing orders.
  • With Takakura’s help, you will be able to turn your farm into a large and prosperous farm.
  • Eventually you will be able to wed and start a family.

Gameplay

  • Your responsibility is to take over the farm and make it successful by purchasing, planting and harvesting crops as well as raising animals.
    • Crops you can purchase, plant and harvest include:

Tomato

Watermelon

Strawberry

Melon

Turnip

Potato

    • Animals you can raise and take care of include:

                         Cows Sheep
 GoatsA Horse
 A DogA Cat
 ChickensRoosters
 Ducks

  • Each crop has a particular season when it grows and a specific amount of time it will take them to grow.  Crops also need to be watered in order to grow.
  • Animals produce byproducts like milk and eggs, and crops produce goods that you can sell either by yourself or to a local merchant named Van.
  • By earning more money you’ll be able to buy better equipment to more efficiently run your farm.
  • You will need to make sure you eat and get rest during the game so you have the energy to do all the tasks on the farm.
    • Otherwise you might get sick and have to spend a day at the doctor.
  • Besides taking care of the farm you can do other activities like:
    • Dig at the archeology site
    • Fish for food or for selling.
    • Talk to your neighbors to learn different recipes. HMIAWL_02
      • You can share completed dishes with your wife.
    • Help out your neighbors to become better friends with them.
      • Friendly neighbors will give you special items.
  • Part of the game is to date and marry one of three available girls in the game.
    • Celia is the down-to-earth farm girl that is seeking an honest, hard-working guy.
    • Muffy is the flashy flirt that spends her time polishing goblets at the Blue Bar.
    • Nami is the smartest of the three and is impressed with gifts of fossils and statues from the archeology site.
  • Once you have married your chosen wife you will have a child.  This child will take on the characteristics of your wife. You will also be expected to name your new child.
  • Throughout the game it is important to visit with and get to know the people that live in town.  They will give you animals and other things along the way.
  • Finding the balance between planting crops, tending to the animals, and paying attention to your family while at the same time growing your farm, was a fun and enjoyable experience.
